Despite most Llamas Quarry finds being on the smaller side, usually with just one or two fluorite crystals, this specimen is generously and fully covered with the characteristic bevelled edged, tabular crystals Llamas Quarry is known for. Despite its quantity, the quality holds fast— most of the crystals are clear, glassy and lustrous, some with beautiful zonings. Some of the crystals even grow together to form a shape resembling a heart. Under different lighting, the specimen appears to be soft plum pink to violet purple colours.

Llamas Quarry, Duyos, Spain

According to Mindat, in its time of operation in the 1970s, the Llamas Quarry offered some of the best specimens of Caravia mining district. Specimens from this locality are often colourless, and in some, violet to purple.
