RM379Appearing as a dark blue fluorite crystal at first glance, with some backlight, it really comes alive- displaying wondrous multicoloured zonings of blue, maroon, yellow and purple. Not many, if any, other fluorite from other localities have displayed such a wide colour spectrum as this.

A nice example from the Maraval mine, this well-formed specimen is made up of an intricate, neat network of translucent fluorite cubes which contain the characteristic red hematite and black inclusions. Some of the inclusions also grew outside/atop the fluorite crystals like red snow.

Beautiful stepped formation on the edges of this Fontsante fluorite, with blue and yellow zonings. The crystal itself has a slight hint of maroon colours, with a sparkly quartz ‘sidecar’.

This scarcely-seen specimen from the old L’Avellan mine has a sizeable cubic face with good clarity. Predominantly light green, the specimen has beautiful blue edges and red zonings within; colours seldom seen in a French specimen.

Glassiness is not the strongest forte for most finds from this iconic French locality; but not for this one!
This Valzergues specimen is as captivating as it is glassy, with completely smooth surfaces, good lustre and exceptional clarity. Its colours are vivid and bright; exhibiting all the best hues of Valzergues— orange to yellow, with sky-blue and violet purple zonings.
Remarkably difficult to find such glassiness in this size especially.
