One of those few fluorite specimens from the Emilio Mine with hydrocarbon inclusions (the round, black “ink droplets”)- a mineral combo beloved by fluorite collectors, thanks to the distinctive “black & white” aesthetic between the glassy, colourless fluorite and black bitumen.

The Emilio mine in Asturias, Spain has been known for producing beautiful colourless fluorite specimens since the 1980s, with the widest range of possibilities in crystallography of the whole Caravia mining area. Specimens found there display various habits, combinations of isometric system as well as mineral associations, including baryte, quartz or calcite, as well as inclusions such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, cinnabar, sphalerite, etc.

As with most Cambokeels Mine fluorite, this specimen features translucent colourless to white twinned crystals, and interestingly, with greyish-black chalcopyrite crystals forming the zonings within. There are also several clear cubic crystals growing alongside the main interpenetrating twin, providing a good contrast and aesthetic.

Like a jagged shard of ice, forever frozen in time. This flawless, colourless Elmwood ‘ice cream cone’ is a remarkable 7.5cm tall beauty with pronounced dissolution features, giving the crystals an unusually sculptural appearance. The fluorite is exceptionally glassy and gemmy, with excellent transparency that allows light to travel deep into the crystals and accentuate the intricate dissolution textures.

A glassy Berbes Fluorite showing rich violet and lighter purple tones with distinct zonings throughout the crystals. This specimen is actually double-sided, with more violet crystals growing on its back, alongside white Barite blades.

An interesting, multi-layered specimen with intricate stepped fluorite growths resembling the sharp highs and lows of a cityscape. The colourless crystals are exceptionally water-clear, with phantoms of gentle greens and yellows throughout.
