Besides the intricate etchings on most of its faces, this specimen also exhibits the uncommon and unusual corner modifications that gives the crystal an otherwise “puffier”, softer and rounder aesthetic.

RM3,170The water-clear clarity of the best Emilio fluorites can be hard to capture on camera, simply because the crystals are so transparent, one can see through it to see the matrix underneath or other crystals that grew alongside.
The highlight of this specimen is undoubtedly the completely perfect crystal that sits front and centre. The beautifully formed, bevelled-edged, jewel-like fluorite crystal is completely damage-free, smooth, gemmy and clear on all sides, so clear that you can see the micro chalcopyrite crystals within.

RM750This Wilson Vein fluorite exhibits the classic colourless twinned crystals typical of this locality, though this is exceptionally gemmy and lustrous for the find. There is also a hint of violet zonings within the crystals.

A nice example from the Maraval mine, this well-formed specimen is made up of an intricate, neat network of translucent fluorite cubes which contain the characteristic red hematite and black inclusions. Some of the inclusions also grew outside/atop the fluorite crystals like red snow.

Colourless, with a curious tinge of mint green and soft pink within, making this an interesting example that contains all the colours ever seen in fluorite specimens from this famous locality. This specimen is also glassy and gemmy, with slightly bevelled edges.

As with most Cambokeels Mine fluorite, this specimen features translucent colourless to white twinned crystals, and interestingly, with greyish-black chalcopyrite crystals forming the zonings within. There are also several clear cubic crystals growing alongside the main interpenetrating twin, providing a good contrast and aesthetic.

A classic example from the Emilio Mine, this colourless specimen is completely glassy, with blue zonings and chalcopyrite inclusions throughout. The translucent appearance and glassy lustre is further enhanced by its beautiful etchings and “digital growths”-like formation.

Like a jagged shard of ice, forever frozen in time. This flawless, colourless Elmwood ‘ice cream cone’ is a remarkable 7.5cm tall beauty with pronounced dissolution features, giving the crystals an unusually sculptural appearance. The fluorite is exceptionally glassy and gemmy, with excellent transparency that allows light to travel deep into the crystals and accentuate the intricate dissolution textures.

A top specimen from a well-known locality— this Huanggang Fluorite is completely colourless, with a sharp octahedral crystal perched elegantly atop smaller crystals that are equally as clean. Pristine and complete all-around, many from these finds are dull in lustre or frosted somewhat, but not this one! Absolutely gemmy and glassy, with an unmatched aesthetic.

An interesting, multi-layered specimen with intricate stepped fluorite growths resembling the sharp highs and lows of a cityscape. The colourless crystals are exceptionally water-clear, with phantoms of gentle greens and yellows throughout.

A gorgeous specimen from the Llamas Quarry, with the biggest crystal being a water-clear, tabular fluorite with a slightly bluish-violet tinge. There are also several other smaller crystals, some cubic, but with the same exceptional clarity, growing aesthetically alongside the focal one.
