An interesting, multi-layered specimen with intricate stepped fluorite growths resembling the sharp highs and lows of a cityscape. The colourless crystals are exceptionally water-clear, with phantoms of gentle greens and yellows throughout.

Worked from as early as the 1830s for antimony, but soon after shifted to fluorite extraction until 1977. Many interesting, diverse and multicoloured fluorite specimens have been uncovered since, from green to yellow to blue, and oftentimes a combination of colours. “The finest fluorite specimens of Haute-Loire come from this famous deposit.” – Mindat

Delicate rose pink to red fluorite crystals perched aesthetically on a jagged formation of smoky quartz; an uncommon and highly sought-after combination in alpine mineral specimens. The sharp, well-formed octahedral crystals contrast beautifully with the pointed quartzes, in both form and colour.

Beautiful stepped formation on the edges of this Fontsante fluorite, with blue and yellow zonings. The crystal itself has a slight hint of maroon colours, with a sparkly quartz ‘sidecar’.
