A beautiful tricolour La Barre cluster with several glassy crystals exhibiting yellow phantoms, blue and thin purple zonings. Excellent transparency and good lustre.

Presumably the most widely-known fluorite locality in France, the La Barre mine, which was worked from 1918 until 1948, had a large fluorite-quartz vein hosted in migmatites, but all adits have since closed. The deposit is known for producing blue and yellow fluorite specimens, sometimes with blue and purple zonings, or yellow phantoms.

An interesting specimen from the Marsanges mine with aesthetic like none other that came before it. Glassy, with multicolored phantoms and zonings from blues to greens and hints of red.

Despite its age, this Chavaniac-Lafayette fluorite still exhibits bright blue colours, with a darker blue zoning and yellow zoning on its outer edges.

An unusual Marsanges corner with a translucent mint green layer, atop a sharper, saturated red layer of zoning which one can see from its side, followed by another mint green layer atop a deeper red core.

Appearing as a dark blue fluorite crystal at first glance, with some backlight, it really comes alive- displaying wondrous multicoloured zonings of blue, maroon, yellow and purple. Not many, if any, other fluorite from other localities have displayed such a wide colour spectrum as this.
