An unusual Marsanges corner with a translucent mint green layer, atop a sharper, saturated red layer of zoning which one can see from its side, followed by another mint green layer atop a deeper red core.

Worked from as early as the 1830s for antimony, but soon after shifted to fluorite extraction until 1977. Many interesting, diverse and multicoloured fluorite specimens have been uncovered since, from green to yellow to blue, and oftentimes a combination of colours. “The finest fluorite specimens of Haute-Loire come from this famous deposit.” – Mindat

A complete cubic crystal from Trébas with multiple blue hues and a thick reddish zoning nestled between two parallel deeper blue zonings.

A well-formed crystal that appears to be colourless, but the presence of multiple baby blue zonings make it look blue overall. Completely glassy with good lustre and transparency.

Despite its age, this Chavaniac-Lafayette fluorite still exhibits bright blue colours, with a darker blue zoning and yellow zoning on its outer edges.
